Feeling Stuck? Do what you want to do today!

Today’s Challenge

Often in a coaching session, my clients will experience a feeling of being stuck either in a job, a relationship, the daily chaos of life, limited by money, you name it, something is prohibiting them from doing what they really want. It is also prohibiting them from creating the action plan to get them where they want to go or be in life.

Whatever is holding you back today from doing what you really want to do. Try this exercise.

I developed this exercise on the spur of the moment for one of my clients. They were feeling frustrated and stuck in life. It was that magical mo•clar moment when I had this idea for this client that may help them get unstuck.

I encouraged her to complete this exercise.

I asked her, “What do you want to do today?”

Client, “Go to Paris.”

Me, “Great! Then go.”

Client, “What?!?”

Me, “Go to paris.”

Client, “How?”

Me, “In your mind’s eye.”

Take an hour today or maybe even two.
Get on the internet, find some pictures of Paris and put them all around you.
Close your eyes and imagine the plane ride.
Getting to the airport.
The smell as soon as you get out in the open air.
The taxi ride to your hotel.
Greeting the bell boy or girl and talking to the desk front manager. Asking them what is the first thing you should do in Paris for your first visit.
Then whatever it is you want them to say, go do it.
If it is walk, imagine preparing your pack for the walk.
Taking that first step onto the sidewalk.
Seeing the sites, the buildings, the people.
Of course, smiling the whole time because you are in Paris.
Imagine the first bite of food you eat there. What was the meal? I am sure it tasted great!
And just take your time with this seeing yourself there. Post some pictures of your day in Paris to Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.

Tomorrow, you may decide you are going on a safari in Kenya. Do the same thing.

So many people are stuck because they can’t see anything else besides what is bothering them; what they don’t like. They see what they really want to do as impossible and sometimes even unimaginable.

This exercise is to open up your imagination.

As Albert Einstein said,

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

If you feel your are not limited by anything to do what you want, you will be able to clear your mind to see the opportunities that are all around you. Having a clear mind is exactly what we are looking for in this exercise.

Do this exercise every day for 21 days. See where it takes you. I bet you will be surprised.

And remember, if you don’t have one or two hours, just do it for 20 minutes. You can even exercise and do this technique. Pretend you are running in the hills of Switzerland, even if your actual feet are on the land of America.

Use your imagination. You won’t be disappointed. 🙂

5 Steps to Solve a Problem

A Nightly Ritual to Release the Day’s Worries

At night just before I go to bed I have this ritual that allows me to release the day’s thoughts before settling in to a deep sleep. On my nightstand, there are several books that I turn to for inspiration, thoughtful awareness or simply to create a smile.

On this one particular day, a day that most would label as hard or trying. The kind with an over abundance of work, news that wasn’t ideal and generally some not requested stress. At times like this, I turn to a book called “Celebrating Love” by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It is a book that holds discourses that he has given over many years. I randomly, with my eyes closed, flip through the pages and stop at a certain page based on my intuition for that moment. On this day, I stopped at page 21. Overall topic Problems.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar writes about the five steps to solve a problem:

1. Admit it exists.
How many of us know there is something a miss but we brush it under the rug or push it deep down inside? Admitting there is something there actually begins the process of healing or dissolving it.

2. See it as a small problem and do not see it as big.
This is one, even I can be guilty of at times. Looking at a situation square in the face and calling it big. The minute the title “BIG” comes out of your mouth now it seems as if it is impossible. We at Mo•Clar always believe that everything is possible. So simply change the perspective by changing the word. Call it small. This simple little trick will bring it down to a very manageable task to solve or later you will actually see to not solve, at least not immediately. The task now seems possible and with this your brain or intuition will naturally take over to create clarity around the situation.

3. If it concerns people, keep in touch with them instead of avoiding them.
Ah, Communication. So simple in idea. It seems a little harder to implement. Yet, when you consider something a small thing, no big deal, it exists, so why hide anything. As humans, it is better to be forthright with humility and compassion then to hide. Ask yourself, what are you hiding? If you were the other person, would you want to know? What is the benefit of you keeping it to yourself?

4. Talk less and give time a chance.
The human condition. We are talkers. We tell people everything, well most of us. At times, instead of giving the “problem” energy, give your blessings more energy. Actually, when you have what you call a problem existing is the time when you really need to express deeply what you are grateful for. I wear a bracelet on my left wrist that says “blessings”. It reminds me to speak more about my blessings then giving energy to other things that do not serve me. This allows me to focus and gives rise to faith. When we live from a place of complete unwavering faith, you will be surprised how little problems can really be.

5. Get together and celebrate.
“When you celebrate and put the problem on the back burner, you will see that the problem gets solved over time.” – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

This one is my favorite. It really sets into place the notion of the mindset. If you are seeing problems then you are not seeing opportunities. Every so called problem is by definition a growing opportunity. If you can celebrate the moment and not label it, this twist allows your creative mind to take over and flourish with intuitive ideas to grow from this wonderful opportunity.

When I read this discourse, I realized that solving a situation isn’t really about solving it at all. It is about setting an intention of what you want to learn and what you want to accomplish. If you come at the angle of accomplishment or end result and really define the intention (not the expectation), then the so called “problem” will resolve itself through the action steps of the intention.

As your perspective changes, have deep gratitude for the current experience without judgement. Soon you will notice that your mind opens up with awareness and opportunities will abound. Have faith. The universe is always on your side.

11 Year Old has a MoClar Moment

Today I was reading about Carson Huey-You, who is 11 years old and attending Texas Christian University as a freshman in college. It is an inspiring story. I have attached the Youtube video for you to view his story from the point of view of FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS).

At 50 seconds, Carson Huey-You had a MoClar Moment.

“Whenever you are like ‘Oh, that makes sense now,’ just kind of after going at it, going at it, it’s just kind of like that one moment of thought,” Carson explains.

That one moment of thought is what we call a MoClar Moment. This is what we strive to bring to our clientelle. Those moments of thought of pure clarity that this is the right answer.

Our programs work to open you up to awareness, clear your blocks or limiting beliefs and create a flow of moclar moments.

Benefits of Clarity

“Clarity of mind means clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves.” — Blaise Pascal

I have spent that last several months trying to figure out how I wanted to help the world. As soon as I heard about coaching, I knew my calling was there. I believe the reason so many people are called to this career is because there is an uprising of people who want to help the world move into a greater happiness for all. Not just themselves but help everyone see that life is not as difficult as people believe it to be.

We all have challenges, of course. But how we view those challenges is the difference between success and failure.

As I struggled to find my niche, I went back and forth between becoming a business coach, life coach, marketing coach or spiritual coach. In the end, I finally settled on becoming a life purpose coach. The reason I settle there was because I realized that was the root of where inner happiness began. If you know without a doubt what you are meant to do on this earth, nothing will stand in your way. You will never think about quitting. It would never even cross your mind. When you feel from your head to your toes, from skin to your bones, what your purpose and passion is in life, you know there is nothing else you want to do.

In that exact moment, I had a moment of clarity. I knew I was here to help people find their purpose, their passion, their infinite statement of why they are here. There are so many people who can help you market your business. But that is not why I am here. Yes, I understand marketing. Yes, I understand web design and graphic design and time management and hard work. But all of that to me is surface level dwellings. I wanted something real. Something powerful. Something life changing that when my clients were done working with me they had a vision, a mission and a plan to execute that they would never give up for anything. The word ‘No’ would not exist in their brain because without a doubt they knew who they were and why they were here.

So MoClar was born. It was born from my own moment of clarity. It was born from me listening to my inner voice, my inner guide, saying loudly, “YOU ARE HERE TO CREATE INNER SMILES! Your mission is that simple. Your vision is to bring forth all people who need to spend time listening to their inner voice, their inner guide and help them hear it loud and clear.” I have a gift to listen. I have a gift to read between the lines and to hear what is stopping people from creating their passion. That is why I here.

When you know your passion, your purpose for life you will no longer be wondering around in boring jobs or careers. You will not have to get two or three degrees unless your purpose is simply to learn all you can. You will have a clear and focused path in life. And that is what I want for all my clients. A clear and focused path.

To take this path, you must be brave. You must have confidence. You must know yourself, in and out. Your limits, your strengths, you weakness and most of all your motivation to keep going. I took four years to look within me. Four years of continuous self-reflection on a daily basis. Not just every other day, but every day. And I still do this practice daily. I call it my morning reflection.

This time in reflection gives me strength to keep moving forward. It creates motivation for my purpose. If I skip a day, I know it. I feel tired, exhausted and unmotivated to keep going. That is why, I do my best to always be there for myself first so that I can be there for all others that need me.

So now you ask, what is the benefit of a clear mind?

  1. A clear mind will help you move the fog away. You no longer have to guess or wonder what your next steps are.
  2. You can relax in the moments between because you have a plan. You see your vision.
  3. You can calmly and confidently create goals full of inspired actions that relate specifically to your mission in life.
  4. You know you will succeed because quitting is not an option.
  5. You will no longer feel lost or uninspired.
  6. Any feelings of misery, shame or frustration will be a thing of the past.
  7. You will learn to trust your inner compass.

These are only a few of the many benefits that clarity can bring to your life.
