Welcome to Day 25 of 365 Moments of Clarity Project
Today’s MoClar Moment comes from visiting the ocean. I wrote today’s post there.
Why do cultures choose to forget where we come from? We walk on mother earth daily and forget to thank her for birthing the plants that give us air. Or for creating the first cells that developed us into conscious beings. Why have we forgotten about how without her we wouldn’t be in existence? There is an essence of worship that sweeps over me as I peer out into the deep blue world of flowing waves.
Many religions call worshiping her heresy. What really is worship except the ultimate gratitude of something you love so much. Worship is defined as the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. I want to redefine that word. I choose to remove the deity part. Worship should be the word that extends an unlimited feeling of deep love for what is before us. Earth, sky, trees, planets, animals, insects, food, the sea, mammals and humans. Everything you experience a deep awe, wonder, love and gratitude for.
Some ask why not use Namaste as the word for deep gratitude. It is my understanding that Namaste means my energy bows to the energy that is within you. It means I see you and I respect you. Worship to me is at a much higher plane of gratitude. It is a much deeper love. That is really what worship is called to be.
Yes, I worship the earth and the water I drink, the food I eat and the conversations I experience. May I grow to embody the term of worship to all things including myself.
Let words be your path to ultimate expression of enlightenment & practices be the journey to the destination we only arrive to upon death.
Daily Journal Entry & Meditation
The exercise today is to ponder what deep gratitude and deep love means to you. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Where have you felt it? What word would you use to express something that is almost beyond words?
One of my favorite meditations is to simply bring your hand to your heart and thank each individual cell in your body for being there, for helping you exist, for working 24 hours a day, 7 days week without vacation or break. Tell your physical body how much you appreciate what it does for you. To me this is a form of worship, but it is not heresy. It is a deep gratitude for what is before and within in me.

If you feel drawn to share your story, I am always blessed to receive it. Namaste.
